man match 21 between netherlands and united states last night was an absolute low scoring thriller from start to finish. nobody expected this game to become such a crazy nerve wracking nail biter but the bowlers from both sides just turned the pitch into an absolute minefield.
usa won the toss and chose to bat first but man everything went totally downhill for them right from the powerplay itself. the dutch opening bowlers were swinging the ball like crazy and picked up three quick wickets for almost nothing. the usa middle order tried to stabilize things with some slow running but they just couldn’t smash any boundaries at all. they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and somehow bundled out for a very poor 124 runs on the board in their 20 overs.
chasing 125 looked like an easy walk in the park for netherlands but usa fought back like absolute tigers. their spinners completely choked the runs in the middle overs and forced the dutch batters to make silly mistakes. it came down to 9 runs needed off the final over with just two wickets in hand. netherlands tailender managed to smash a lucky thick edge for a boundary on the fourth ball and somehow crossed the line. netherlands won by 2 wickets with just two balls to spare!
