What a game in Jaipur! Lucknow Super Giants somehow pulled off a wild 2-run victory against Rajasthan Royals when it looked like RR had it completely wrapped up.
Things started rough for Lucknow, but Aiden Markram anchored the innings with a solid 66 off 45, alongside Ayush Badoni’s handy 50. The real drama happened right at the finish, though. Abdul Samad went completely rogue in the final over, smacking 30 off 10 balls to push LSG to 180/5. Nobody saw that last-minute surge coming.
RR’s chase was smooth for the most part. Yashasvi Jaiswal made a fine 74, and young 14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi came out firing with a quick 34. Add Riyan Parag’s 39 to the mix, and Rajasthan needed just 8 runs off the last over with plenty of wickets in hand. Easy win, right?
Not quite. Avesh Khan came in to bowl the 20th and completely shut down the home side. Hitting yorker after yorker, he gave away a paltry 5 runs, snatching victory right out of RR’s hands and finishing them at 178/5. Absolutely legendary finish from Avesh.
