India Vs New Zealand – 3rd T20I Match Highlights – 27 OCT 2026
Abhishek Sharma turned the third T20I into a one-sided contest with a breathtaking century as India crushed New Zealand by six wickets in Wellington on October 27. Chasing 199, India barely gave the hosts time to settle before racing towards the target and securing an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
New Zealand had put up a competitive 198/3 in their 20 overs. Daryl Mitchell anchored the innings with an unbeaten 89 from 52 balls, while Finn Allen contributed 40 off 25. Bevon Jacobs added a quick 39 not out, helping the home side finish strongly. Still, their total proved nowhere near enough against India’s explosive response.
Abhishek took charge from the opening overs, smashing 113 from just 38 deliveries, including nine fours and 11 sixes. His hundred came off only 35 balls. At the other end, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played fearlessly, scoring 45 from 19 balls. Together, they added 133 runs for the opening wicket and helped India score a record 118 runs in the powerplay.
Although New Zealand picked up a few wickets, the damage was already done. India reached 199/4 in just 13.2 overs, winning with 40 balls to spare.
Abhishek’s extraordinary knock earned him Player of the Match honours and left New Zealand searching for answers before the fourth T20I.
