RCB vs KKR – IPL Match 1 Highlight – 22 Mar, 2025

New season, packed stadium, loud crowd that’s exactly how the opening night of the Indian Premier League felt when Royal Challengers Bengaluru met Kolkata Knight Riders in the very first match.

KKR started with the bat, and for the first few overs things looked pretty smooth. The openers didn’t waste time settling in. A couple of crisp boundaries, one big six over mid-wicket, and suddenly the scoreboard was moving quickly. But T20 games rarely stay simple for long. Once the powerplay ended, RCB’s bowlers tightened things up and grabbed a few important wickets.

That slowed KKR down a bit. Still, some late hitting helped them push the total to a score that felt competitive.

RCB’s chase had its moments too. An early wicket made the crowd go quiet for a minute, but the middle order kept the innings steady. No panic, just sensible cricket singles, twos, and the occasional boundary.

As the last few overs arrived, the tension was obvious. Every ball felt important. Then finally, a clean shot through the covers and another boundary a few balls later eased the pressure.

RCB crossed the target with only a handful of balls remaining, starting their IPL season with a narrow but satisfying win. The tournament couldn’t have asked for a better opening night.
