West Indies Vs India – 2nd T20I Match Highlights – 09 Oct 2026
What a night for West Indies cricket! India put up a huge total, but Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford had other plans in the second T20I in Ranchi on October 9. West Indies chased down 250 runs to win by six wickets and level the five-match series at 1-1.
Batting first, India finished on 249/5 in 20 overs. Sanju Samson led the charge with a superb 82 off 41 balls, hitting nine fours and four sixes. Ishan Kishan added 43, while Shreyas Iyer smashed 40 from just 18 deliveries. Tilak Varma stayed unbeaten on 44 off 18 balls, giving India a powerful finish.
Chasing such a big target was never going to be easy, especially after West Indies slipped to 58/3. But Hope kept his cool and played a remarkable unbeaten innings of 102 from 45 balls. Rutherford gave him outstanding support, blasting 84 off 37 deliveries as the pair added 120 runs together.
Romario Shepherd then made sure there would be no late drama, scoring 34 not out from only 13 balls. West Indies reached 252/4 in 18.3 overs, completing a memorable chase. Hope was named Player of the Match for his match-winning century.
