Man, what an absolute roller coaster at Eden Gardens! KKR looked dead in the water with two overs left, but somehow they dragged themselves over the line against Punjab Kings.
Punjab chose to bat and put up 188 on a pitch that was offering plenty of runs. Prabhsimran got them off to a flyer with a rapid 48, and Livingstone came in near the end to hammer 42 off just 21. Honestly, Sunil Narine was the only KKR guy who didn’t get battered, finishing with 2 for 26.
The chase started terribly for Kolkata. Phil Salt went early, and even though Shreyas Iyer ground out a decent 52, Arshdeep Singh broke the game wide open with a double-wicket over in the 17th. With 28 needed off 12 balls, it was pretty much Punjab’s game to lose.
Enter Rinku Singh. He hit Harshal Patel for back-to-back sixes in the 19th over, completely turning the pressure back onto PBKS. From there, KKR casually wiped off the remaining six runs in the last over with two balls to spare. Unbelievable finish!
