Talk about total domination! India kicked off their Asia Cup campaign in absolute style, crushing hosts UAE by nine wickets in a match that barely lasted two hours in Dubai.
India won the toss and chose to bowl first, and their bowling unit didn’t give the hosts any breathing room. UAE started with a tiny 26-run opening stand, but things went completely downhill once spin was introduced. Kuldeep Yadav blew right through their middle order with a sensational 4 for 7, while Shivam Dube chipped in with 3 for 4. UAE ended up getting bundled out for a miserable 57 runs in just 13.1 overs.
Chasing 58 was an absolute walk in the park for the Men in Blue. Abhishek Sharma came out with one thing on his mind, blasting 30 off 16 balls with three towering sixes to put the game to bed early.
Shubman Gill stayed till the end with a smooth 20, wiping off the remaining target in just 4.3 overs to seal India’s biggest win by balls remaining in T20I history.
