Australia Vs Zimbabwe – 1st ODI Match Highlights – 15 Sep 2026
Australia began their ODI series against Zimbabwe with a 59-run victory in Harare on September 15. It was not a completely smooth outing for the visitors, but Matt Renshaw’s brilliant century made a huge difference.
Australia batted first and finished on 294/8 from their 50 overs. Things looked a little uncertain in the middle of the innings before Renshaw took control. The left-hander played a calm but aggressive knock of 109 from 94 balls, finally reaching his maiden ODI century. Cooper Connolly also chipped in with a useful 51.
Zimbabwe’s Newman Nyamhuri had an excellent day despite his side’s defeat. He picked up his first ODI five-wicket haul and kept Australia from pushing the score much higher.
Chasing 295, Zimbabwe lost wickets early and were soon under pressure. Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza tried to pull things back with important half-centuries, but Australia kept the required rate out of reach.
Nathan Ellis then put the result beyond doubt. His 5/31 wrapped up the Zimbabwe innings for 235 in 45.1 overs.
Australia walked away with a 59-run win and a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
