Sent in to bat first, RCB’s opening pair did most of the heavy lifting. Virat Kohli, standing in as captain, held one end tight with a gritty 59 off 47 balls. Faf du Plessis made his impact count too, top-scoring with a rapid 84. The pitch wasn’t the easiest to fly on, but their century stand lifted Bangalore to a competitive 174/4.
Punjab’s chase got messy almost immediately. Mohammed Siraj was on fire from ball one, breathing fire in his opening spell and knocking over the top order before Punjab could even settle in.
Prabhsimran Singh put up a fight with 46, and Jitesh Sharma hit a few big blows late on, but the target kept drifting away. Siraj came back to finish off the tail, wrapping up incredible figures of 4 for 21. Punjab eventually folded for 150 in the 19th over, giving RCB two massive away points.
